Full Moon in Aquarius

This Full Moon sits between Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Aquarius and while the orb is probably too wide for us to call this a conjunction (Pluto at 25º Capricorn and Saturn at 10º Aquarius), I will say that this Moon having recently conjoined Pluto and now on her way to meet Saturn, is a troubled Moon.

The Moon will be Full tonight at 7:37pm (PT) in Aquarius, the sign of the Water-Bearer. The Sun in Leo encourages and supports our creative projects especially if whatever we are working on is geared towards helping others. Aquarius is a sign committed to making the world a better place. Venus in Virgo is opposite Jupiter in Pisces. The Virgo-Pisces axis (Venus/Jupiter) is an axis of service. Venus in Virgo has a habit of hexing herself which is to say she can block the good that wants to spill over into her life. How does she do this? by being over critical and judgmental of self and others. Of saying no when she should be saying yes to heart-opening possibilities.

Venus in Virgo also allows for a finer re-appreciation of the small things. Beauty is very much in the details when Venus cruises through Virgo and the opposition to Jupiter in Pisces, tells us that we have been made aware or will very soon be made aware of the privilege inherent in every moment in which we take another breath, hug a loved one, sip a cup of coffee, eat a ripe peach or walk through pristine wilderness. The benefics want us not so much to luxuriate, as appreciate and to somehow share this reignited or new appreciation for our lives, our families, our communities, our Mother Earth with others. There are innumerable ways to do this, ranging from charitable giving to starting a group.

It must be noted that the Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is An Unexpected Thunderstorm. Is there trouble ahead? Yes. And this symbol tells us that we will be unprepared for what is coming. Remember the Moon was only recently in a grim dance with Pluto. I’m thinking of the flooding in China and Germany. The impermanence of man’s creations. Buildings swept away. The chart for this Full Moon is water and earth heavy. Nature is making a point. Are we listening?

On a personal level, this Moon is a reminder that nothing can be grasped or held onto forever. Everything changes. Nothing is permanent, not even your bad luck or undesirable situation. Mercury in Cancer trine Neptune in Pisces, tells us that help is available. Reach out to people, let them know how much you care about them. This is a wonderfully creative aspect for writers and artists. Put pen to paper.

Lastly, whenever the Moon is in Aquarius we are encouraged to express ourselves. And this Moon simply interpreted says “be proud of who you are”.
