Full Moon in Libra
Today’s Full Moon perfects at 11:48am (PT) , 12:48pm (MT) and 2:48pm (ET) at 8° Libra.
The Sun, conjunct Venus and Chiron in Aries opposes the Moon in Libra (the Moon is always opposite the Sun during Full Moon). The Full Moon in Libra is about relationships but this one feels different because Libra’s ruler, Venus is in Aries conjunct Chiron and the Sun. It’s more “what kind of relationship do I have with myself and what needs to change” and less “what is the quality of my relationship with others?”. This is overall a positive lunation that invites us to work with Venus’ courageous and determined Aries energy to start anew or revivify old dreams and go after what we want. Venus has just emerged from a superior conjunction with Sol and will be the bright and glorious Evening Star from late April.
Venus has literally turned a corner in the heavens and we’re being guided to do the same.
The Moon is in a harmonious aspect with Mars in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius daring us to take the initiative and lay the foundations for future success. This lunation encourages disciplined action.
The Sabian symbol for this lunation is ‘Three “Old Masters” Hanging On The Wall Of A Special Room In An Art Gallery’ which I believe is about mastering yourself and showcasing your talents.
Conversations and thoughts may revolve around Venus themes like, as mentioned above, relationships but also money and your sense of worth. You may not feel appreciated or valued and you may find yourself comparing yourself to others and feeling “less than”.
Chiron opposite Luna will undoubtedly stir up emotional baggage but there is an opportunity here for clarity and closure that brings healing around what still prevents you from embracing your talents and sharing them with the world. A Full Moon either illuminates and clarifies or brings closure or completion.
Mars conjunct the North Node in Gemini points us in the direction of growth and destiny. Take note of the house occupied by Gemini for clues as to what talents should be cultivated going forward. A prerequisite for growth is vulnerability. You have to be radically honest with yourself and you have to be willing to change and take risks.
Watch that you don’t fall back into old patterns of behaviour signalled by the South Node in Sagittarius. The less desirable qualities of Sagittarius include self-centredness, aggressiveness and coming across as a difficult know-it-all. Mars, a symbol of courage and initiation is in a powerful position at this time to aid us in our growth.
Lastly, the Moon in Libra is in conversation with Uranus in Taurus. Taurus, like Libra is Venus-ruled. This immediately made me think of how we all have a relationship to a place. Not only do we have to inhabit our place in the world, we are also a unique place. You are you but you are also of the world. This lunation is also in large part, a reminder for us to rebalance our relationship with nature.
