January - The Month Ahead

2021 and 2022 are a package deal. Many of the important aspects activated this year will still be active in 2022. I want to point this out because what begins to formulate or take shape this year will only stabilize in 2022 and beyond.

2021 is a square dance. The Saturn/Uranus square is the most important of these squares and already in play. Square aspects activate tension and cause disruption so this is a year of upheaval and change. If you were still hoping for some semblance of pre-2020 “normalcy” forget it.

We can expect changes to the way we think about and work with the internet, currency, food production and land/property. I may as well repeat here what I know every other astrologer is saying, the world is going to shift from hard currency to digital currency. But I will also add here that I believe a lot of what is coming up politically - worldwide - this month (January) and next month is going to surprise us. The astrology is especially volatile around the 20th.

On January 4th, Mercury and Pluto meet up in Capricorn. A possible interpretation of this transit is people in power holding meetings behind closed doors (corporate heads, government officials). On a personal level this is a power-full day. Speak up for yourself. Repeat affirmations, build self-appreciation.

Mars moves out of his home sign, Aries, on the 6th and into Taurus where he is said to be in detriment. On his way out though Mars is going to make one last ditch at glory (it’s hard not to compare Mars’ transit to that of a certain president).

While Mars travelled through Aries (from end June 2020 to 6 Jan, 2021) he helped you start something and now in Taurus, Mars will help you concentrate your energies and solidify your plans. On the 8th Venus moves into Capricorn and the next day (9th Jan) makes a harmonious trine to Mars. This is a hot ‘n sexy and fruitful aspect. Expect a boost in finances and/or heat between the sheets ;-)

January 17th, Jupiter squares Uranus. Jupiter is paving the way for Saturn’s agenda by squaring Uranus, the planet of surprises and innovation first. Because Jupiter is in Aquarius and the internet is a Uranian/Aquarian invention I think issues or concerns around how we use the internet will come up. This will be connected to the distribution of conspiracy theories and propaganda.

On January 30th, Mercury retrogrades in Aquarius.
