New Moon in Capricorn

Updated: Jan 14

Today’s New Moon in Capricorn is an invitation to sit awhile - a long while - with ourselves and to name the thing that prevents your phoenix-like rebirth.

The New Moon is traditionally the best time to set intentions and start new projects. Today’s Moon is no such New Moon, although I do encourage you to follow your inner wolf on this. If every fibre of your being is screaming for you to start a new project or cast a spell at this time, then do but expect a deeply transformative experience to be your reward. Why? Luna conjoins the planet of transformation and endings, Pluto.

To give you an example of how this energy is working I want to tell you about a new course I planned to launch later this month. It’s a course - ironically enough (Moon conjunct Pluto) on the Shadow. The Shadow is that side of our personality that contains all the parts - good or bad - that we don’t want to admit having. Over the weekend, I was guided to revisit the course from a surprising angle and so began a process of deepening, relearning and releasing that has altered the way I work with my shadow and of course has transformed the course!

You may find that instead of action this New Moon asks us to reconsider, to hold back and to see things through a different lens. Saturn-ruled Capricorn is the sign of among many other things patience and persistence. We are reminded to honor the process of slow growth and transformation. This message is further emphasized by Mars square Saturn (exact on the 13th). Any attempts to rush things will just result in frustration.
