New Moon In Virgo (30 August)
Updated: Sep 7, 2019
Tomorrow’s new moon in Virgo is a black moon.
A black moon is the second new moon in the same calendar month and a powerful harbinger of new beginnings.
Before you sit down to write your intentions tomorrow (or Saturday morning) think about what needs to be cleared out or released in order to welcome in the new.
This release does not necessarily relate to psychological debris.
Look at your environment - office and work - and see what steps you can take to make things more practical, easier-to-access and generally more organized.
Remember things don’t have to be “perfect” around the home or in your work environment they just have to be better.
Here are a few ideas:
Clean out your refrigerator
Go through your handbag and purse or wallet.
Wash your car.
Get your filing up to date.
Clear your inbox.
Now a few words on setting your intentions:
It's a good idea to write out your intentions and to limit them to ten. Use words that speak of Virgoan traits like “practical”, “disciplined”, “organized” but please know that this is not a requirement.
Here’s an example of a new moon wish for tomorrow:
I see myself taking disciplined action towards achieving my goal of learning to speak Italian.
Virgo is also associated with health, healing and nurturing so consider the many ways you can improve your health and stamina. Practice self-compassion.
Here is what this black moon highlights for each astrological sign. (If you know your Ascendant please read that too).
Before setting your intentions this Friday, take a moment to reflect on how you have been deliberately trying to hide or reject your true nature.
What needs have you been suppressing or denying that now clamor for your attention? For example: Do you crave independence but find yourself dependent on others? Do you seek adventure or new experiences but are holding back because you lack confidence?
This new moon blesses your intentions to get to know yourself better; to learn the difference between what you want and what others want for you. In this process of reconnecting with yourself, your intentions for better health, greater stamina, resilience and commitment to your dreams will take root.
To know what that true self is without social pressure is to know your true nature. - Martha Beck
Before setting your intentions, ask yourself if you're listening to your heart or if everything you’ve been doing until now has been rinsed clean by logic and rational thinking.
The muse is knocking at your door this week. What creative project beckons? What heart song needs to be shared? And what are you prepared to do (and lose) to make your art?
This new moon asks you to make room for the muse, to run with your wildest ideas and take a leap of faith. Set intentions around creativity, pleasure-seeking, and risk-taking.
To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow. So do it. - Kurt Vonnegut
Before setting your intentions down on paper tomorrow, ask yourself “what does home mean to me”? Remember that home is much more than a physical place. It's also a spiritual place and feeling.
For example, how “at home” do you feel in your body?
Turn your gaze inward; to the rooms inside you. What beliefs are taking up space in your interior that affect how comfortable you feel with your own skin?
What do you need to feel safe and secure?
Set your intentions this Friday around the word “home” and how you want to feel.
Home is not a place, it’s a feeling. - Unknown
You are encouraged to read, listen to podcasts, take courses and network at this time, Cancer. The question you need to answer before setting your intentions this Friday is:
How am I communicating?
Consider not only the intention behind your words and tone but also non-verbal cues like body language and facial expressions.
Set your intentions this Friday around speaking, learning, writing and perception.
The way you view yourself dictates how you think others view you. Work on realizing you’re fiercely awesome! - Brittany Burgunder
You have money and property on your mind, but also shiny, frivolous things that will fill an emotional hole for a brief and fleeting moment. You see, the real question Leo is not whether or not you can afford All The Things but whether or not you can resist the temptation to buy what you don’t need.
Set intentions around self-esteem and a rigorous commitment to disciplined money-management.
I love money. I love everything about it. I bought some pretty good stuff. Got me a $300 pair of socks. Got a fur sink. An electric dog polisher. A gasoline powered turtleneck sweater. And, of course, I bought some dumb stuff, too. -Steve Martin
You’re getting much much closer to knowing your life's purpose Virgo, or have already made great progress in claiming your path. This new moon urges you to continue putting yourself out there and to keep making decisions that align with your highest vision for your life.
Before writing out your intentions tomorrow ask yourself: Am I taking confident and purposeful actions? If not, why not? Set intentions around clarity, fearlessness, and purpose.
Everything you want is on the other side of fear. - Jack Canfield
There’s a saying that worrying is worshipping the problem. Before setting your intentions tomorrow ask yourself if worrying is the best way to protect yourself and those you love?
How is ruminating adding more pleasure and sweetness to your life? It isn’t, of course, but you need to come to this conclusion on your own.
Set intentions around transcendence and letting go.
If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever. - The Dalai Lama
If you’ve been feeling confused or rudderless, tomorrow’s new moon in Virgo invites you to to make friends with people that will support your ambitions.
By friends, I am specifically referring here to groups of people or associations that will help you in your chosen field. Set intentions around networking and collaboration.
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go with others. - African Proverb
What do you offer Sagittarius? How are you adding value?
Whether you’re the President of a multi-national organization or about to start college, tomorrow’s new moon is an invitation to share your story, expertise and truth.
Set intentions around providing value, growing your reputation and establishing a career.
It takes many good deeds to build a reputation and only one bad one to lose it. - Benjamin Franklin
While you will undoubtedly be visiting an exotic or distant locale or two in the following weeks not all destinations can be reached in a safe and predictable manner.
These so-called hard-to-reach-places (the top of Mt Everest, tribal settlements in vast jungles, small dots in the middle of nowhere on a map) are reached by people willing to scale mountains, navigate rapids and seek new ways to expand their horizons.
Tomorrow’s new moon invites you to look beyond your own horizon.
Set intentions around daring and courage and enjoying new experiences.
Adventure is allowing the unexpected to happen to you. - Richard Aldington
Has someone got your undivided attention?
This new moon invites you to ignite with passion and enjoy break-the-bed sex! If you’re already having hot ‘n dirty sex twice a day with a special someone then you’ll be happy to note that you can wish for money! And/or a deeper understanding of so-called occult subjects like tarot.
Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames. - Rumi
Here’s what I invite you to do before setting your intentions tomorrow - write out a description of your ideal romantic partner.
Then, consider if that person you described would be drawn to you because you exhibit similar qualities. For example, let's say, you would really like to attract a confident and charismatic partner. Are you confident and charismatic? Or have your close friends likened you to Grumpy Cat?
This new moon encourages you to evolve so you can attract the right relationship or improve an existing one.
“A great relationship is about two things, first, find out the similarities, second respect the differences.” - Unknown
