The Month Ahead - November
The first half of November is Mars-ruled and the second half is Jupiter-ruled. The softer Jupiter-ruled part begins when Mercury and Venus glide into Sagittarius after the 15th.
The first half of this month will be particularly challenging for those of us with fixed sign placements (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius). The Sun, Mercury and Venus are all traveling through Scorpio and Scorpio is Mars-ruled (Pluto is co-ruler). Even if you don’t have any fixed sign placements, you will pick up on this prickly and “intense” energy.
Mars is now retrograde in Gemini. He will be retrograde until January 12th and he will stir up discontent and friction in the Gemini sector of your birth chart. Gemini is Mercury-ruled and Mercury rules travel and communication (among many other things). I mention this because Mars’ retrograde motion is likely to create or recreate car trouble and ignite travel mayhem. If you drive around a lot for work, you will notice an uptick in aggressive driving and road rage.
If you are making travel plans, something may come up that will change your mind or you will decide to postpone it for a later date in the new year. If you do travel during Mars’ retrograde, some frustrations will arise, probably in the shape of rude or aggressive people.
Communications are also likely to stall or you will feel like you are being deliberately stonewalled. If you are to survive this long retrograde period intact please remember to not take anything personally. And slow down.

Mercury in Scorpio is the investigative journalist; the detective. Awesome for digging up bodies and tracking Bigfoot but also dangerous. You never know who you’re going to piss off.
Venus in Scorpio doesn’t take kindly to people taking what is hers. Or what she thinks belongs to her. Venus in Scorpio is the sorceress, Circe. She Who Changed Men into Pigs. And wolves. So before you tango or tangle with someone this season online or offline make sure you have all your bases covered and some Deneb oil.
The other thing to be aware of when Venus travels through Scorpio is the intensity of your feelings and how your feelings block you from claiming your best life. Scorpio is the sign of magick and manifestation which makes this period incredibly potent. BEWARE YOUR THOUGHTS.
When Venus travels through Scorpio we are made aware of our feelings of envy and jealousy. Someone comes along during this transit to remind us of our shortcomings or our “failures”. You’re likely to witness someone else’s star rise and think “that should be me”. This is the Universe’s way of saying:
You attract what you are feeling. If you feel “lack” then you will continue to struggle.
Remember, until you learn to feel good for someone else’s success, you block your own good.
We are heading towards a Full Moon in Taurus on the 8th which is also a total lunar eclipse. This is a tense lunation and if you are a fixed sign Sun or have other personal planets (Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius you are going to feel it. In fact, you may already be aware of how you are being triggered as we are between eclipses. I will write a longer post on this upcoming eclipse but please take note of whatever issues arise this week - especially on Tuesday 1 November (Moon in Aquarius, conjoined Saturn square Uranus).
The energy lifts after the 15th when Mercury and Venus move into Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, followed by the Sun on the 23rd.
