The Week Ahead 18-23 April
Updated: Apr 18, 2022

18 April. The Moon is in Scorpio until just after 7pm PT. Venus and Mercury sextile Uranus encourage a break from routine and spontaneous action. You may hear or deliver surprising news today. The Moon’s first aspect this morning was to Saturn in Aquarius (square). Since Scorpio is associated with secrets and psychological processes, you may have started the day feeling “less than” or unenthusiastic about going back to work or returning to some project you are working on. Personally, I started the day having to face a hard truth. Whenever the Moon sails through Scorpio, we inevitably have to face some truth about ourselves or someone we care about.
Sun square Pluto brings up issues around power which for most of us will revolve around money or the lack thereof for things that we desire.
When the Moon enters Sagittarius this evening, the mood shifts from intense and introspective to adventurous and lighthearted.
19 April. The Sun enters Taurus at 7:24 pm PT and our focus turns to making our ideas manifest in the material world. Taurean energy is determined and persevering. In Greek mythology, Hephaestus is the God of the forge, craftsmen and volcanoes. It’s tempting to think that this God of weapons and volcanoes is connected to the sign of Aries, but he is very Taurean. Hephaestus is a hard working God who is skilled not only at metalwork but also stonework. He has the ability to animate his creations. In other words, his creations come to life. For example, he has two golden handmaidens who assist him with his work. Hephaestus was married to Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love (who as Venus, rules Taurus) and instead of riding a flashy chariot like most of the other Gods, Hephaestus rides a donkey. Taurus is a practical sign that digs in and gets things done with whatever is on hand. When the Sun travels through Taurus, ideas are given form.

20 April. The Moon squares Jupiter and Neptune today before entering Capricorn at 8:52pm PT. Watch for callousness - especially towards others which includes the land and the unseen. A moment of doubt. A cloud of uncertainty or confusion. Fortunately the Moon’s entry into Capricorn, restores faith and purpose.
21 April. Lovely day. Thoughts, actions and emotions line up. (Moon trine Sun, Moon sextile Mars, Moon trine Uranus.)
23 April. Moon enters Aquarius just after midnight, making this an ideal weekend for community projects or get-togethers. A square between the Moon and Sun may lead to conflict (wants vs needs). Consider working with the Moon for creative and unique solutions to problems. Mercury conjoins the North Node. Pay attention. The psychopomp has an important message for you. What does it mean? The blackbird visiting your kitchen window. A visitation from your late grandmother in a dream. A decision or realization may result in an important mind-shift that will alter the course of your life.
