Uranus in Taurus

Updated: Jan 13, 2021

Uranus brings unexpected changes. A slow moving outer planet, Uranus takes 84 years to make a complete journey around the Sun and aspects it’s position in your birth chart every 7 years, resulting in a need to rebel against rules and structures and break away from social norms (the infamous 7-year itch). Uranus is associated with breaks and Saturn with brakes.

Uranus-influenced ages are 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56 and so on. A person with a strong Uranus in their chart (Uranus in Aquarius, Aquarius Rising, Uranus on the Midheaven) is creative, eccentric, contrary, unpredictable and freedom-loving. Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius (Saturn, the traditional ruler). Many astrologers have a strong Uranus.

The house occupied by Uranus in your birth chart tells you where you are most likely to break the rules. And, the house Uranus is transiting indicates the area of

life where a dramatic change will occur over a 7 year period.

Rebellion is often viewed negatively and associated with bikers, tattoos, piercings etc but that’s manifestations of a non-conformist personality. Rebels follow their own path with or without piercings. They rebel against “shoulds” and are unafraid of sparking outrage. The house and sign occupied by Uranus in your birth chart reveals your unconventional traits.

Uranus in Taurus

Uranus entered Taurus on March 6th, 2019 and will remain in Taurus until April 25th, 2026. Since Uranus’ transit out of Aries and into the earth-sign of Taurus focus has shifted from the relentless pursuit of individuation and goals (the rise in entrepreneurship being one manifestation) to more community-building and conservation concerns. Uranus in Taurus asks we become collectively responsible for our actions and the following issues will take centre stage:

  • Climate change

  • Overpopulation

  • Renewable energy

  • Food production

Uranus stations direct tomorrow, January 14, at 6 degrees 43’ Taurus, having been retrograde since August 15, 2020. Those sensitive to fluctuations in energy may feel “wired” and nerves may be on edge. Issues around electricity (faulty appliances, the electric grid etc) and “flashes of insight" can occur, especially just before or on the day of Uranus’ stationing. With Uranus about to move forward, we are free to explore, experiment and change!
