Welcome to Pisces Season (18 February - 20 March)

Updated: Feb 19, 2022

Welcome to Pisces Season!

In Hinduism, the Supreme Cosmic Reality is known as Brahman and is said to be omnipotent and genderless and an infinite being that is beyond comprehension and description. Brahman dreamed and Gods sprung forth. Brahman dreamed and stars burst into existence. Brahman dreamed and planets formed. Brahman dreamed and all manner of life came to be.

Brahman dreams and so do you and I.

Neptune - the modern ruler of the zodiac sign of Pisces - is the celestial sphere that best expresses this truth. Neptune reminds us that everything is in motion in a diaphanous sea of dream material. The unmanifest becomes manifest and vice versa. Neptune calls our attention to the fact that we are constantly summoning and invoking through our imagination. Imagination is our direct link to the Supreme Cosmic Reality. It is what makes each and everyone of us Superman or Wonder Woman or the Scarlet Witch.

Neptune is sailing through their home sign of Pisces (2011-2016) and during this time Neptune will help us awaken to our spiritual gifts, our psychic receptivity and creative potential.

Pisces

Pisces is a sign that does not fit easily with modern society and contemporary capitalism. Ruled by Neptune (and magnanimous Jupiter), Pisceans find it difficult if not impossible to embody a philosophical belief that self-interest and competition should pervade our lives. Pisces is a sign that values cooperation. They intuitively know what is at stake when we choose shopping over a walk in nature or social isolation over conscious kinship.

Pisces values unhurried reflection and dream time. They give credence to what can only be perceived with our third eye and trust feeling over rational thinking.

The Roman poet, Marcus Manilius wrote this about Pisces:

The folk engendered by the two Fishes, the last of the signs, will possess a love of the sea; they will entrust their lives to the deep, will provide ships or gear for ships and everything that the sea requires for activity connected with it. The consequent skills are numberless: so many are the components of even a small ship that there are scarcely enough names for things. There is also the art of navigation, which has reached out to the stars and binds the sea to heaven.

While it may very well be that Manilius was being super literal I like to think that since he too was an astrologer married to symbolism, what he was describing here is every Piscean's love of Mystery, adventure, myth, story and magic.

March is going to be a suitably magical month. Here are the dates you will want to mark on your calendar.

March 4th: The Sun and Jupiter meet in Pisces making this one of the luckiest days of the year.

March 6th: Mars and Venus enter Aquarius.

March 9th: Mercury enters Pisces.

March 12th: The Sun and Neptune meet in Pisces. Magic!

March 18th: Jupiter Morning Star! Full Moon in Virgo.

Pisces Season Try This List

  • Allow inspiration to flow unfettered by rules. Let whatever wants to emerge come to be without judgment and let it lead you to even more exciting modes of expression.

  • Consult the tarot, runes or I Ching for intuitive practice and spiritual guidance.

  • Write down your dreams as soon as you wake up. Explore their meanings by searching for their meaning and also sharing symbols with trusted friends.

  • Activate your imagination by being near water and/or spending time in nature.

  • Take note of the house inhabited in your natal chart by Pisces and actively imagine being your most powerful and capable in the areas activated. For example, if Pisces is your 6th House, “see” yourself meditating, walking or going to gym, accomplishing your daily tasks with ease and enjoying perfect health. If Pisces is your 7th House, imagine yourself and your special person, enjoying each other’s company. (7th House also rules contracts and partnerships of all kinds).

Wishing you a magical season!
